 How to grow grass 

Planting the seeds

When trying to grow a patch of grass it is important to start with planting the seeds. To plant the seeds you need to buy really expensive tiny brown or blue grass seeds. You then sprinkle the seed onto the dirt. Make sure that it's sprinkled (evenly spread out) evenly around the area. 

Watering the seeds

 Next you water the seed that you sprinkled. Every day if it doesn't rain you should water the seeds. You need to make sure you don't overwater(too much water) or it will cause it to drown and to die. Over watering means there is too much water. The best way to water your grass is to use a sprinkler and water it for 20-30 minutes three times a week. By watering the grass for this amount of time it allows moisture to travel into the soil helping it grow.

Waiting

After a while you have to be patient and wait then you will have grass.

Grass takes around 21 days to start to grow (changing in size)because it's not scientifically proven that grass can instantly grow.

You will then have the perfect patch of grass even after you water it you still need to water it and every so often you need to mow the grass. Weeds form because they grow in places healthy plants can't. If weeds start to form then kill them with weed stuff. The grass should be the color green if it's yellow then you need to water them and that is how you grow grass.

 For reading this week we talked about climate change and how it affects the worlds. We then read a text and made a poster with a message we thought was important it had to have at least 3 pictures and one had to be original, you also couldn't have over 20 words. i made a poster about how island are sinking i hope you like it.

How to draw an eye 👁️

 For writing this week we had to write instructions for something so i chose to do hiw to draw an eye i included pictures so you can know what it looks like.

for reading this week w were talking about reading the detail of things instead of skim and scanning and when its appropriate to. so we had to chose a set of instructions without knowing what we are making to see what we end up with i chose to make food and it turned into scones.

Growth mindset poster about jazz Thornton

 we have been focusing on growth mindset I think its good to have a growth mindset. 

I chooses to learn about Jazz Thornton because I have only heard of her briefly on social media and it wasn't until I researched about her I found out how inspirational she is.

For my DLO I made a goggle drawing on Jazz Thornton and how she has a growth mindset

Grit task

 1919, Disney had taken a job with the Kansas City Star, the local newspaper, when he was fired by the editor for lacking imagination and having no good ideas 

Later Disney started a company called Laugh-O-Gram, producing cartoon animations

Later with the help of his brother they mad films but it wasn't till 1928 when they created mickey mouse

that was my presentation on Walt Disney and how he showed grit i spent a lot of time researching the information.

Statement: Money can buy happiness

I believe that money can buy happiness. Alright I know what you're thinking “ there's been lots of research proving you wrong” well i'm here to say otherwise. First of all this is going to sound so stupid but you can easly buy anti depression also known as happy pills yes it can be really bad for you but it still can buy happiness because you have to buy the medicine.

First I did some research and it turns out money can make you happy because you have more control over your life. Because if your poor you can't have a house or have different things but if we have money we have more freedom to be healthy because you can buy healthy food and things like exercise equipment yes i know that you can run to be fit but what about the other things like fresh water and food you can't get that if your poor pluse money gives you a lot more freedom in 

life. 

Many people have proved that it can buy happiness. Have you ever seen a sad person on a jet ski?  I mean yes they could be scared but they would enjoy a lot of the things that make you happy you have to buy, like a dog supposedly “ A man's best friend” . I know you can buy rescue dogs but you still need to buy the other things for the dog.

Finally Scientific evidence has shown us that in fact, money DOES buy happiness, but only to a certain point. Crazy right because for ages people always say “money can't buy you happiness” and they are kinda right and kinda wrong yes it can buy things that contribute to happiness. I personally agree that money can buy you happiness but only to a limit. Well what do you think?

 Title     Tornado hits south Auckland---> Weather

The Article was about how a Tornado hits Auckland killing one person and injuring two others

i want to know if the worker knew the tornado was coming but chooses to not listen or if he didn't know and had to work because if he knew and still had to work then it wasn't his fault but if he choose to work then it his his fault for not listening.?Questions I choose to read this because I really find things like this fascinating

A 4 year-old boy with autism brought over 3500$ of sponge bob ice blocks off amazon but when his mum couldn't send it back they set u a fundraiser and raised over 20,000$ so the additional money will go to his education. I want to know if he got in trouble and how his family reacted I read this because i found it really funny.

  Science of happiness

    This week we looked at D.O.S.E which means Dopamine, Oxytocin, Serotonin, Endorphins. they are the four different chemicals that get released into your brain if you do different things. for the create task we had to in a way of our choose decide how we want to present our understanding of each one responsible for happiness.

for maths this week we had to either create or get a map then add compass directions and scales then we had to make questions for a buddy to answer I choose to do a map of saint Francis

the goal was maths L4 Communicate and interpret locations and directions, using compass directions, distances, and grid references.

 

for maths knowledge i chose to do Know groupings of 10’s, 100’s & 1000s in 7 digit numbers there was 10 questions to d i was very very confused this was my first time doing this

Do you think i id alright considering i am very bad and have never done this before?

Matariki stars

 

For reading this week we had to create a matariki star using paper we had a video to look at. I didn't need the video since I did this last year after we made the stars n each pint we wrote a thing from a website that we read the in the middle we wrote if we thing matariki should be a public holiday i think it should fr all the people who didn't or couldn't create the star they mad a digital version all together it was fun my favourite part was making the star

What could i do to improve?

top team maths task

 for maths this week we first had to complete some questions for the area, perimeter , and volume then we had the fun task we got to create a top team game so i partnered up with Sophie and we created a game where you dip a sponge in the bucket jump through the hula hoops  go over and under the hurdlers then back through the hula hoops squeeze the sponge into the other bucket then run back and give the sponge to the next person. we had to figure out the length and width to everything. i really love the design we choose

what do you think we could do to improve?

My book is about a young kid named Greg Heffley who is starting his first year of middle school he has a older brother who plays all kinds of tricks on him during the book Greg's school starts boys wrestling ending up in chaos and Greg gets in trouble with his Dad .him and his best friend Rowley gets into trouble with a bunch of ten ages which ends in them going to Greg's school  what could happen will Greg find his way out of this situation and will he finish the year in one piece read Diary of a wimpy kid to find out

Math week 8

                          Kowhaiwahi!!!!!!!

 for maths we were learning about reflection, rotation, translation, and enlargement first we had to write in out book examples of each one to show that we understand it it was fun because i got to do the understanding part twice one with normal drawing and the one with Maori drawing then we got to the fun part...

we needed to make a Kōwhaiwhai pattern that shows 2 of the 4 things so i choose reflection and rotation i choose them because they are really interesting in my opinion it is the coolest stuff to work with because there is so much you an do with them so this is what did--------->

i learned so much well doing this i loved being able to make patterns and experimenting different ways to do this.

                       Reading week 8

                            Venn Diagram

                           for reading this week we had to choose a goal on hero to complete. for the one i choose we had two read two texts the make a Venn diagram about it i decided to do a 3 way diagram and between each thing is what those too had in common the in the middle is what they all have in common. i choose to do The Eiffel tower, peacock fountain and the statue of liberty. I learned so many new facts and knowledge.

Maths Week 8

 

 Math week 8

 For maths this week we had to find data r use the teachers data on a topic that we choose to i decided to use the teachers data about native birds increasing population. we had to make  table of the birds showing the percentage they have increased. and write 3 statements why new knowledge and over all finding. 

                               Coordinates

              coordinates are a way to find a place in the world.

          to find the coordinates of something you look at the number at the bottom and go up to the line. so for example if i was trying to find lyttelton i would go to the bottom 77 and go up to 71 on the side.

                From Onawe peninsula to Otautahi is 39.1 km

From kaiapoi pa to Otautahi is 25.7 km

 

Pa week

   PA WEEK!!

This week our hub is celebrating Maori Pa's, we are calling it pa week.

For Reading this week we were meant to design an ad of what a pa would look like if they were on sale in 2021 so I made a pretend company called Tashcorts and made a slideshow to read and see the photos and writing.

      

For maths we had to design a pa that we got to deside how we want to show case this so i decided to do it in my maths book and use every square to be a meter. then we had to find the area of my Pa and every thing in it.

for writing we had to explain some of the features of our pa and explain them with a video or poster.
